We may be heading towards the end of January already but nothing says it’s a New Year like a slow start. Yes, I’m finally dusting off the cobwebs and getting back to it!
Heading into December I was getting increasingly overwhelmed with all the ‘things’ I owned and as much as I LOVE all things beauty, I realised the majority of what I was purchasing was a spur of the moment retail therapy spend rather than an actual need. We’ll get into that more another time.
This, paired with saving for a house *cries in London prices* it was time to switch it up and try something different. Enter, my No Buy Beauty year. Yes, a whole year. I’m scared too…
I’ve shared more about the rules I’ve set myself over on my TikTok but essentially, I won’t be purchasing a single beauty item whether it be skincare, makeup, haircare or tools unless I am completely out and don’t already own a suitable alternative. I do have to caveat this by saying I will still be accepting PR as I’m super picky as it is and turn down multiple offers per month so I’m confident I will continue to accept PR only if it aligns with me and I know I’ll use the product. Plus somethings gotta give right?! Let a girl live!
The goal from doing my No Buy year is to save even more money than I usually do and really whittle down my collection so that way when it does come to moving out the less ‘stuff’ I have to take with me, the better!
I will be posting updates at the end of every month to let you know how I’ve been getting on and whether I’ve managed to stick to my guns or not.
Wish me luck!
Until next time…
